[Month X Day X] Another day of red sky. The Balaur's screams and flames engulf all of Eltnen along with the blaze of fire. High Commander Castor leads the remaining soldiers and continues to fight on. We, the Golden Branch Brigade, have always reached the battlefield earlier than anyone else. But this fight feels different. We've never been this overwhelmed by the sheer number and strength of the enemy. [Month X Day X] We requested reinforcements from the Elyos command three times. But all we received was a short message: "Cannot spare men in this situation. Each battalion must fend for itself." Fend for itself, they say. They fail to grasp the gravity of the situation. The sky has been torn apart, the ground has collapsed, and humans and Daeva turn to ashes. High Commander Castor said nothing. He didn't have to. His clenched fist said it all. [Month X Day X] We aren't fighting anymore. We're running. The thirst was more silent and devastating than the fear. [Month X Day X] For the first time, we used force to take what was not ours. Kirilion and I said nothing before the Shugo's water barrel. We just quenched our thirst. To survive. That moment, we were no longer a brigade or Daeva. We had just survived.
