Ulgorn's Letter•Altgard · 327 words

Word for word from the game client.

Dearest Hadala, I have spent much time considering whether I should write this letter. Perhaps I am overthinking things, but I cannot shake the feeling that something troubling lies ahead. Time and again, I have done all I can to temper Nemon's worst impulses, but that woman's stubbornness is a force all its own. It is clear that she too grows impatient. There is no way to know what will happen next, so I am writing this letter in case the worst should come to pass. Of course, I hope this letter never reaches your hands. Yet you know better than anyone how rarely my instincts have led me astray. Those golden days when you, Nemon, and I stood together as one team have long since passed. After all these years, I have grown accustomed to Nemon and her ways. From the very beginning, however, you and she often found yourselves at odds. Allow me to speak plainly. Nemon's personality is not an easy one to accept, and of all people, I understand why you feel that way. But there is one thing of which I am certain. And that is the fact Nemon is different from any other Daeva I have encountered. She possesses the ability to change this cursed world, whether she desires that responsibility or not. So, even if the worst should befall me, please continue to watch over her. You are the only person I can entrust with this request. I do not ask that you remain by her side. That choice belongs to you alone. I only ask that you believe in her. Ha! Even imagining such a day coming to pass is making me emotional. Hadala, you are not merely the sole friend I have had since leaving the Blades. You are family>. Please remember that no matter how often I may grumble to you, those words never reflect what I truly feel. Always wishing for your happiness, - Ulgorn -
