This AION 2 Arena guide covers the game's instanced PvP: three modes from 1 vs 1 duels to 10 vs 10 objective matches, a season ladder ranked within your class that pays PvP buffs and titles, and a shop full of PvP upgrades. Unlike the Abyss, the Arena runs on a match queue, so you can fight other players in ten-minute bursts without spending a weekly time budget.

Everything below comes from the global client data behind our events page and Season 1 rankings: the matchmaking, reward and reward-limit tables, the season grade tables and the shop lists. Numbers are a snapshot as of October 2026.

Times are server time. Every mode plays 10-minute matches.

The Arena of Tactics is the 10 vs 10 content the menu calls the Battlefield. Its only map in rotation, Odyle Shard Cradle, is a push mode: escort the Shard Catalyst into the enemy camp before time runs out, and if neither team gets it there, the team that pushed it farthest wins. Pushing it into the enemy entry zone during Extra Time wins on the spot. Two more Battlefield maps sit in the client but are not in rotation: Stormslumber Snowfield, a banner-capture map, and Sandstorm Temple, where the first team to 1,500 points from holding Bases wins.

How to join the Arena

  1. 1
    Reach level 45

The client's unlock table opens "Arena and Battlefield" together at level 45, with no quest or item level requirement. Our content unlocks page lists everything else that opens at 45.

  2. 2
    Open Main Menu > Arena

Pick Arena of Solitude or Arena of Cooperation at any time. For the Arena of Tactics, use Main Menu > Battlefield during its two daily windows.

  3. 3
    Accept the ready check

When matchmaking completes, press Ready. The client warns that cancelling repeatedly after a match is found may restrict your Arena entry.

  4. 4
    Track your record

The Arena window shows your rank, Rank Points (RP), win rate, consecutive wins and your last 10 matches, so you can see how close the next grade is.

Arena rewards: Abyss Points and Silver Medals

The Arena's own reward text is clear: "Earn [Abyss Points] as rewards based on your match history." Every match pays a participation reward and a win adds a victory reward, up to weekly caps that reset on Wednesday.

ModeParticipation rewardVictory rewardWeekly cap
Arena of Solitude300 Abyss Points500 Abyss Points10 participation, 30 victory rewards
Arena of Cooperation300 Abyss Points500 Abyss Points10 participation, 30 victory rewards
Arena of Tactics1,000 Abyss Points + 1 Silver Medal of Merit3,000 Abyss Points + 2 Silver Medals of Merit3 participation, 3 victory rewards
Per-match rewards and weekly caps from the client's Arena reward and reward-limit tables.

Season 1 achievements add more on top: 30, 70 and 150 Arena matches pay 1,000, 1,400 and 1,800 Abyss Points, and 20, 50 and 100 Arena wins pay 2,000, 2,800 and 3,600. A separate track counts opponents defeated, from 50 up to 300.

The Arena exchange shop: 31 items

The Arena shop lists 31 items. The prices below are the Abyss Point prices of the Trade Shop goods it shares. The Centurion skins also cost Silver Medals of Merit, which only the Arena of Tactics hands out among the Arena modes.

For PvP, Potential Stones come first, then the wings. Owning Warrior Wings adds 1% PvP Damage Tolerance and owning Brawler Wings adds 1% PvP Damage Boost and 100 PvP Defense, permanently, even while you wear other wings. Our Abyss guide explains what Potential is worth on a weapon, and the mounts and wings guide covers owned-wing bonuses.

Arena season ranking: grades, Rank Points and titles

Arena of Solitude and Arena of Cooperation each have their own Season 1 ladder, which runs from September 30 to December 16, 2026; the Arena of Tactics has none. In the game's words: "This rank is calculated for individual classes. Season Grades are determined based on your rank and cumulative rank point range. Ranks are updated hourly." A Sorcerer only competes with Sorcerers, and promotions and demotions land at each hourly update.

GradeClass rankMin. Rank PointsGrade buff

Challenger 34–51,8004.2%

Gold101–3001,5302.2%
Silver301–6001,5001.5%
Bronze601–1,0005001.2%
IronEveryone else1None
Season 1 class grades, identical for both ladders, from the client's season grade table. Buff = PvP Damage Boost, PvP Damage Tolerance and PvE Abyss Damage Boost.

The grade buff, called Arena of Solitude Grade Rewards or Arena of Cooperation Grade Rewards, follows your current class rank during the season, and its tooltip adds that "only the highest buff rewards out of the Abyss, Arena of Solitude, and Arena of Cooperation are applied." At season end, Bronze through Challenger 1 also pay a title such as Arena of Solitude [Season 1] Challenger 1, delivered the first time you enter that content in the next season. The Season 1 Arena titles carry no stats in our data, so they are bragging rights only.

PvP stats that matter in the Arena

PvP stats in the character window only apply against players, which makes them the Arena's real currency. Here is what each one does, from our stats page, with the most each class can get from its Daevanion boards.

StatWhat it doesDaevanion max (per class)
PvP Damage BoostBoosts damage against characters; offset by the target's PvP Damage Tolerance+6% (4 nodes)
PvP Damage ToleranceWeakens damage taken from characters+6% (4 nodes)
PvP AttackIncreases damage when attacking characters+72 (24 nodes)
PvP DefenseReduces damage taken from characters+720 (24 nodes)
PvP AccuracyAccuracy against characters; offset by Evasion and Block+120 (24 nodes)
PvP EvasionEvades characters' attacks; Evasion rate caps at 30%+72 (24 nodes)
PvP Critical Hit / PvP Critical Hit ResistRaises your crit rate on players / lowers theirs on you+120 each (24 nodes)

The two percentage stats are the ones to chase, because they scale every hit. Besides the Daevanion boards, they come from the Arena or Abyss grade buff (up to 5%), owned PvP wings (1% each), Potential on your gear and party skills. At skill level 1, the Cleric's Light of Protection and the Chanter's Undefeated Mantra give the party 5.25% PvP Damage Boost and Tolerance (they do not stack with each other), and the Sorcerer's Steel Barrier adds 5% PvP Damage Tolerance while its shield lasts.

Best classes for Arena PvP

There are no Arena win rates in our data yet, so this is kit analysis based on the PvP presets in our class build planners, which are tagged for Arena and open-world PvP. Our PvP tier list puts the Assassin and Sorcerer on top for small fights, which fits the Arena of Solitude. In the Arena of Cooperation and Arena of Tactics, party tools count for more than a second damage dealer.

Arena vs Abyss: where to PvP

ArenaQueued matches on equal footing
  • Solitude and Cooperation any time; Tactics twice a day
  • 10-minute matches with no weekly time budget
  • Abyss Points capped per mode each week
  • Per-class ladder with a 1.2% to 5.0% PvP buff
AbyssOpen-world faction war
  • Three Reshanta maps with 7 hours each per week
  • Artifact Sieges and elite spawns on a schedule
  • Abyss Points from Duty scrolls, monsters and kills
  • Abyss tier ladder with the same 1.2% to 5.0% range

VerdictUse the Arena for steady, capped Abyss Points and a quick route to a PvP grade buff; use the Abyss for big fights, sieges and Duty scroll income. Since only your highest grade buff applies, one strong ladder is enough. Our Abyss guide covers the other half.

Guide FAQ

How do you unlock the Arena in AION 2?

Reach level 45. The client's unlock table opens Arena and Battlefield together at 45 with no quest or item level requirement; then open Main Menu > Arena.

When is the Arena open in AION 2?

Arena of Solitude and Arena of Cooperation have no matchmaking window in the client, so you can queue at any time. The Arena of Tactics opens every day from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 19:00 to 21:00 server time.

What are Arena Tokens used for in AION 2?

The client describes the Arena Token as a currency for the Arena Exchange Shop, but it is hidden in the current client and nothing in our data awards it. Arena matches pay Abyss Points instead, and the Arena shop's items are priced in Abyss Points.

How does Arena ranking work in AION 2?

Arena of Solitude and Arena of Cooperation each rank you against your own class by Rank Points, updated hourly. Grades run from Bronze (class rank 601 to 1,000) up to Challenger 1 (rank 1), with Iron for everyone else, and each grade grants a PvP buff during the season and a title at the end.

Do Arena and Abyss buffs stack?

No. The grade buffs from the Abyss, Arena of Solitude and Arena of Cooperation do not stack; the tooltip states that only the highest one applies.

What is the best class for Arena PvP in AION 2?

For the 1 vs 1 Arena of Solitude, the Assassin and Sorcerer have the strongest kits: burst, Polymorph and immunity tools. In 5 vs 5 and 10 vs 10, a Cleric or Chanter for party PvP buffs and a Templar for Grapple's pull matter more than a second damage dealer.
