AION 2 Mounts, Pets & Wings Guide: How to Get Them All
AION 2 mounts, pets and wings from client data: how pet souls work, the truth about mount speed, the best wings and where they drop, plus skins and titles.
AION 2 mounts are pets: every creature you ride is unlocked from a "Pet" item or a stack of its souls, and the global client lists 207 of them across five creature types. Wings are the other half of your travel kit, and both systems are really collections, because owning more pets, wings, skins and titles adds permanent stats whether or not you have them out.
This guide covers all four collections using the game's own data, the same tables behind our mount list and wings database. It answers the questions people search most: how pet souls work, which mount is fastest (the answer will surprise anyone who read the speed lists elsewhere), how to get wings, which wings have the best stats, and how skins and titles turn into real stats.

How AION 2 mounts and pets work
The game calls its mounts pets. The unlock items are literally named "Pet: Fossa", "Pet: Black Dragon" and so on, and their text reads "Grants the Fossa pet. If you already own the pet, it will be obtained as a Soul." The Stamina tooltip also mentions "riding a pet". So when you search for AION 2 pets, mounts and creatures, you are looking at one system.
Every creature belongs to one of five types, and the type matters more than the individual pet:
| Type | Pets | Type bonus (3 tiers) | Soul crystal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fera | 65 | Ground Vehicle Speed +1/+2/+3, Accuracy Bonus +1/+2, Dexterity +1 | Fera Soul Crystal |
| Natura | 48 | Stamina +3/+6/+9, Critical Hit Resist +1/+2, Precision +1 | Natura Soul Crystal |
| Varian | 46 | A riding sprint-cost stat, Evasion Bonus +1/+2, Constitution +1 | Varian Soul Crystal |
| Cogni | 41 | HP +10/+20/+30, Critical Hit +1/+2, Might +1 | Cogni Soul Crystal |
| Special | 7 | None | Special Soul Crystal |
The seven Special pets are the odd ones out: the Black Dragon, Swift Lugi, Wandering Merchant Lugi, Pagati, White Bunny, Chonky Hamster and Two. They have no soul drops, no type bonus, and they are the only pets that cannot be used for transformation. The other 200 can, through Empathy Candy, which the client describes as "Use to transform into the currently equipped pet".
How to get your first mount
You choose your first pet from an early Episode quest: All Geared Up for Elyos and Gathering Essentials for Asmodians, both recommended at level 10. Each one offers a choice of three Fera pets: the Fossa, the Armadon or the Tog. They ride identically, so take the one you like the look of. All three count toward the Fera type level, which is the only type whose bonus touches ground speed.
After that, most pets come from one of two places: their souls drop from monsters in the field (158 pets), or their Pet item is sold in the random shop (200 Pet items are listed there). A handful sit in currency shops: Swift Lugi in the Daeva Pass coin shop and Wandering Merchant Lugi in the Festa shop.
How pet souls work in AION 2
Every one of the 207 creatures needs exactly 5 souls to unlock. Souls are separate items (for example "Soul: Fossa (Bound)", which "Grants a soul") and they drop from monsters of the matching kind. A few examples from the client's drop tables:
| Mount | Type | Soul drops from | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fossa | Fera | Patrolling Fossa (Lv 25), Daeva Renegade Fossa (Lv 24), Tamed Beast (Lv 34) | Southern Tolbas Forest (Verteron); Uruthumheim and Basfelt Ruins (Altgard) |
| Klaw | Cogni | Wandering Klaw (Lv 19) | Destroyed Abyss Gate (Verteron) |
| Kailin | Fera | Ellun River Kailin (Lv 18) and several Asmodian Kailin | Ellun River Midstream (Verteron); Altgard |
| Skyray | Fera | 12 Skyray variants from Lv 10 to Lv 40 | Western Cantas Valley and other Verteron zones; Altgard |
| Sparkie | Fera | 6 Sparkie variants from Lv 18 to Lv 33 | Verteron |
The client lists these soul entries at 100% in each monster's reward table, which is why the mount pages show a 100% per-kill chance. That is what the data says; we cannot see in the client whether a soul reward has any extra condition on top, so treat the listed monster as the place to farm and expect to come back for all five souls. Each mount page lists every monster that drops its soul, with levels and spawn zones on the Verteron and Altgard maps.
- 1Pick a mount
Browse the mount list by type. Fera pets help ground speed; Cogni, Natura and Varian help their own small stats.
- 2Open its page
The soul-drop table sorts monsters by drop chance and level, so you can farm one close to your current zone.
- 3Collect 5 souls
Every pet needs 5. A duplicate Pet item also turns into a soul, so random-shop duplicates are not wasted.
- 4Register it
Each new pet raises its type level and your total collection count, which pays milestone rewards.
What is the fastest mount in AION 2?
None of them. Plenty of sites rank "fastest mounts", but in the global client all 207 creatures share one movement profile: run speed 900, sprint speed 1,200, glide 500 and boosted glide 800 (game units). Our mount pages say the same: "Every released mount currently shares the same speeds, so pick the one you like the look of."
| Creature type | Pets | Run | Sprint | Glide | Glide (boost) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fera | 65 | 900 | 1,200 | 500 | 800 |
| Natura | 48 | 900 | 1,200 | 500 | 800 |
| Varian | 46 | 900 | 1,200 | 500 | 800 |
| Cogni | 41 | 900 | 1,200 | 500 | 800 |
| Special (incl. Black Dragon) | 7 | 900 | 1,200 | 500 | 800 |
What does change how fast you travel is the type bonus. Fera is the only type that adds Ground Vehicle Speed (+1, +2 and +3 at its three bonus tiers), Natura adds Stamina, which the tooltip says is spent "when sprinting normally or while riding a pet", and Varian has a riding sprint-cost stat. If travel speed is your goal, collect Fera pets.
Pet growth: type levels, Genus Insight and collection rewards
Pets have three layers of progression on top of simply owning them.
Type levels and option slots
Each creature type levels from 1 to 10, and every pet of that type you own counts toward it. The type level opens option slots, one per level from 1 to 9, and each roll costs 4 Soul Crystals of that type (or general Soul Crystals) plus 1,000 Kinah. The Soul Crystal Point description calls this "analyzing Pet Genus Insight". Rolls can land on stats such as HP, PvE Attack, Boss Attack, Penetration, Critical Attack or type-specific damage, and the type level sets the grade odds:
| Type level | Common | Rare | Epic | Unique | Heroic |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 90% | 10% | - | - | - |
| 4 | 50% | 45% | 5% | - | - |
| 7 | 35% | 34% | 30% | 1% | - |
| 9 | 25% | 25% | 39% | 10% | 1% |
| 10 | 20% | 30% | 30% | 15% | 5% |
Higher grades roll much bigger numbers. Penetration, for example, rolls 80 to 160 at Unique and 100 to 200 at Heroic in the first Fera slot. Fully mastering this system is what the Unbound by Genus title rewards ("Mastered Genus Insight"), and it gives PvE Damage Boost +4.5% when equipped.
Collection milestones
The pet collection pays out at 5 pets, then every 10 pets up to 500. Most milestones give 100 Soul Crystal (Bound), and every 50th gives 10 Empathy Candy (Bound) instead. With 207 pets in the client, the reachable milestones run from 5 to 200, which works out to 1,700 Soul Crystals and 40 Empathy Candy. Collecting 200 pet types also earns the Rule All Creation title.
How to get wings in AION 2
Your first pair, Lesser Daeva Wings, comes from the Episode quest The Power in the Lake (Elyos) or The Being Beneath the Lake (Asmodian), recommended at level 5. They only give HP +200 when equipped, but owning them adds Flight Power +2,000, ten times the owned Flight Power of most other wings. The Flight Power tooltip spells out the rest: "Collect a variety of wings to increase Flight Power."
Every pair of wings has two effects:
- Equipped effect: the stats you get while wearing that pair.
- Owned effect: a smaller bonus that applies just for owning them, always including Flight Power, and growing over levels +0 to +10.
There are 28 wings, each with an Elyos and an Asmodian version (56 entries in total): 13 Unique, 7 Epic, 4 Rare, 1 Common and 3 Special cosmetic pairs with no stats. Here is where the rest come from:
- Party dungeons: six Unique wings drop as sealed wing items from the Normal difficulty of party dungeons, then you unseal them by conversion with 10 Radiant Odyle. Kromede Wings come from Fire Temple, Forest Spirit Wings from Vakron Sky Island, Dark Veil Wings from Ferocious Horn Den, Black Fragment Wings from Krao Cave, Blue Wave Wings from Draupnir and Ancient Aullaeu Wings from Urugugu Canyon.
- Sealed dungeons: Sealing Wings and Glorious Wings (Epic) each cost 70 Sealed Wing Featherdown plus 10 Pure Odyle. Featherdown comes 2 at a time from sealed dungeon clears such as Poacher's Den.
- Currency shops: Nightmare Wings and Conqueror Wings in the Nightmare shop, Brawler Wings and Warrior Wings in the Abyss, arena and battlefield shops, Talisra Wings in the season shop, and Springflower Butterfly, Spirit and Violet Butterfly Wings in the Festa shop.
- Hidden cubes: Radiant Love Wings come from hidden cubes, which also hand out Soul Crystals for your pets.
- Quests: Aullaeu Wings (Rare) reward Secrets Within Secrets and Canyon's Secret, both recommended at level 30.
Best wings in AION 2: stats compared
Wing stats are fixed per pair, so "best" depends on what you do. These are the strongest Unique pairs with a confirmed source, with their equipped stats from the client:
| Wings | Best for | Equipped stats | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nightmare Wings | PvE bossing | Boss Damage Boost +3.5%, Attack Bonus +60, Critical Hit +35, Accuracy Bonus +35 | Nightmare currency shop |
| Forest Spirit Wings | Tanky bossing | Damage Tolerance +2.5%, Defense Bonus +400, Boss Attack +95, Boss Damage Boost +3.5% | Vakron Sky Island + conversion |
| Talisra Wings | Skill uptime | Cooldown Reduction +4%, Attack Bonus +60, Accuracy Bonus +35, Defense Bonus +400 | Season currency shop |
| Dark Veil Wings | All-round damage | Damage Boost +2.5%, Attack Bonus +60, Boss Defense +500, Boss Damage Tolerance +3.5% | Ferocious Horn Den + conversion |
| Kromede Wings | Early Unique | Attack Bonus +60, Critical Hit +35, HP +500, Natural HP Regen +250 | Fire Temple + conversion |
| Brawler Wings | PvP | Status Effect Resist +3%, Status Effect Chance +3%, HP +500, Defense Bonus +400 | Abyss, arena and battlefield shops |
Owned effects stack across every pair you hold, so a pair you never wear still pays. Brawler Wings, for instance, add PvP Damage Boost +1% and PvP Defense +100 just by being owned, and Nightmare Wings add PvE Damage Boost +1%. Owning 25 wings earns the Dominator of Dimensions title, which gives PvE Damage Tolerance +4.5% and HP +1,000 when equipped.
AION 2 skins and the skin collection bonus
Skins change how your gear looks and nothing more; the stats stay those of the item underneath. The skins database covers 1,461 skins, 119 costume sets and 81 weapon skin series. Where skins do matter is the skin collection bonus: each of the 18 skin categories has its own collection track, and every point in a track adds 0.1% to that category's stat, up to 500 points.
| Category group | Categories | Per point | At 100 points | At 500 points (max) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weapons | Longsword, Greatsword, Dagger, Bow, Staff, Mace, Spellbook, Orb, Fist | +0.1% damage with that weapon | +10% | +50% |
| Armor | Helm, Pauldrons, Top, Gloves, Legs, Shoes, Cloak | +0.1% defense for that slot | +10% | +50% |
| Accessories | Necklace, Earrings | +0.1% damage and +0.1% defense | +10% each | +50% each |
The weapon track is the one to watch: only skins for your own weapon type raise your damage, so a Sorcerer gets nothing from Greatsword skins. Most Epic costume sets are sold through the random shop, while Unique sets sit in currency shops, such as Centurion Armor in the Abyss, arena and battlefield shops and Eternal Horn in the Nightmare shop. Weapon series like Heart of Royalty cover eight weapons in one look. Collecting more than 700 skins earns the Empty Closet title, which gives Combat Speed +3.5% and Cooldown Reduction +3.5% when equipped.
AION 2 titles: equip one, collect them all
The title list holds 528 titles (744 entries counting faction versions) in six categories: Adventure 175, Quest 112, Challenge 106, Dungeon 48, Item 44 and Growth 43. Like wings, every title has two bonuses: one while equipped, and a smaller permanent one for owning it. Only one title is equipped at a time, but every owned title adds its collection bonus.
The titles worth chasing are the Unique ones with strong equip effects, and several tie straight back to the collections in this guide:
| Title | How to get | Equipped | Owned |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rule All Creation | Collect 200 types of pets | Defense Bonus +320, Back Attack Damage Tolerance +3%, Boss Damage Tolerance +4% | Move Speed +1% |
| Dominator of Dimensions | Obtain 25 wings | Defense Bonus +340, HP +1,000, PvE Damage Tolerance +4.5% | PvE Damage Tolerance +1% |
| Empty Closet | Obtain over 700 skins | Combat Speed +3.5%, Cooldown Reduction +3.5%, Natural HP Regen +42 | HP +120 |
| Unbound by Genus | Master Genus Insight | PvE Damage Boost +4.5%, Attack Bonus +34, Critical Hit +68 | PvE Damage Boost +1% |
Collection checklist for new players
If you are just starting, the beginner's guide covers the basics. For collections specifically, this order gets the most value early:
- Pick Fossa, Armadon or Tog from your level 10 Episode quest and start your Fera type level.
- Do The Power in the Lake (or its Asmodian twin) for Lesser Daeva Wings and the big Flight Power boost.
- Farm pet souls from monsters you are already killing; every pet counts toward type levels and milestones.
- Clear sealed dungeons as you level for Sealed Wing Featherdown and Daevanion Crystals.
- At max level, run party dungeons on Normal for sealed Unique wings and spend Nightmare and PvP currency on the wings above. The endgame guide covers that loop.

Guide FAQ
How do you get mounts in AION 2?
Your first mount is a choice of Fossa, Armadon or Tog from a level 10 Episode quest. After that, collect 5 souls from the matching monster in the field, or buy the Pet item from the random shop or a currency shop. A duplicate Pet item turns into a soul.
What is the fastest mount in AION 2?
There is no fastest mount. Every released mount shares the same speeds in the client: 900 run, 1,200 sprint and 800 boosted glide. Only the Fera creature type adds a Ground Vehicle Speed bonus, so collecting Fera pets is the one way to ride faster.
Are pets and mounts the same in AION 2?
Yes. The game names its unlock items Pet, and you ride the pet as your mount. Most pets can also be used for transformation with Empathy Candy; the seven Special pets cannot.
How do you get wings in AION 2?
Your first wings, Lesser Daeva Wings, come from an Episode quest around level 5. Better wings drop as sealed wing items from party dungeons on Normal, are sold in Nightmare, PvP and season currency shops, or come from hidden cubes and level 30 quests.
What are the best wings in AION 2?
For PvE, Nightmare Wings and Forest Spirit Wings both give Boss Damage Boost +3.5%, and Talisra Wings give Cooldown Reduction +4%. For PvP, Brawler Wings give Status Effect Resist and Chance +3% each. Every pair you own also adds a permanent owned effect.
Do skins give stats in AION 2?
Not directly. A skin only changes appearance, but each skin category has a collection track that adds 0.1% weapon damage or slot defense per point, up to 500 points.
