AION 2 Kinah Farming Guide: Best Ways to Make Kinah
AION 2 Kinah farming from the global client: quest and dungeon payouts, gathering and crafting for profit, Market rules and the biggest Kinah sinks.
AION 2 Kinah farming starts with one fact most guides skip: the game has two kinds of Kinah, and only one of them works on the Market. The global client spells the currency Kina, and it splits it into Kina (Bound), which quests and dungeons pay out, and plain Kina, the unbound version that changes hands between players. Knowing which one a source pays decides whether it funds your enhancement or your shopping.
This guide walks through every Kinah source we can verify in the client's data, from quest payouts and sealed dungeons to gathering, crafting and Fire Temple materials, then covers the sinks that will eat it. We do not quote market prices or Kinah-per-hour figures. Market prices are set by players and will move hour to hour after launch, so anything you read elsewhere is a guess. What we can give you is the fixed side of the economy: payouts, vendor floors, recipe inputs and costs.

Bound vs unbound Kinah: what the Market actually takes
Three Kinah items exist in the client, and their own descriptions explain how they interact:
- Kina (Bound): "Currency used throughout Atreia, but unavailable in certain content." Quest rewards and sealed dungeon clears pay this.
- Kina: "Currency used in the Market and Kina Chest (Substance Morph)." This is the unbound Kinah that buys from other players.
- Kina (All): "consisting of both bound and unbound Kina. The bound Kina is spent first, followed by the unbound Kina." Enhancement and Duty quest redraws are priced in this combined pool.
The practical rule: bound Kinah pays for your own progress, unbound Kinah is your trading capital. Because combined costs burn bound Kinah first, a character that clears its quests and sealed dungeons can fund most early enhancement without touching Market money. NPC vendors are a third case. The client prices vendor sales in its "Gold" currency, which is the internal name of Kina (Bound), so expect selling to an NPC to pay bound Kinah rather than Market-ready Kinah.
Best ways to make Kinah in AION 2
| Source | What the client pays | Kinah type | Repeatable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hero (story) quests | 1,400 to 72,000 per quest, about 114 per faction | Bound | Once per character |
| District quests | 10,000 to 140,000 per quest, 86 per faction in the client | Bound | Once per character |
| Duty Missions (Wanted bounties) | 50,000 each, pool of 103 per faction | Bound | Yes, drawn from the pool |
| Sealed dungeons | 15,000 each, 81 entrances per faction | Bound | Clear reward; treat as one pass |
| Selling to players on the Market | Whatever buyers pay | Unbound | Unlimited, if it is tradable |
| Selling to NPC vendors | Fixed vendor price per item | Bound | Unlimited |
For a new character the fixed payouts dominate. The level 49 and 50 District quests alone pay 130,000 to 140,000 each, more than most early vendor sales combined. Our beginner's guide covers the leveling route that picks these up. Once you hit endgame, the fixed sources thin out and Market sales take over, which is where gathering and crafting come in.
How to make Kinah from quests and sealed dungeons
Hero, District and Duty quests
Hero quests are the main story and pay a little Kinah per quest, from 1,400 early on to 72,000 later. District quests are the regional side quests and pay much more, 10,000 to 140,000 each, with the top payouts at recommended level 49 and 50. Neither repeats, so do them as you level rather than coming back later.
Duty quests are the recurring layer, drawn from pools rather than a fixed story chain. The client has two kinds: Missions, the Wanted bounties, and Commands, which start from a quest scroll. Every Mission pays 50,000 Kina (Bound) and 1,000 Abyss Points. Commands pay Abyss Points (most pay 1,000 or 2,000) but no Kinah. Missions start at recommended level 45, so they become your steadiest bound-Kinah income once you reach the endgame; our endgame guide slots them into the daily checklist.
Sealed dungeons
Every one of the 161 sealed dungeons in the client lists 15,000 Kina (Bound) in its clear reward, along with items such as Enhance Stones, and 60 of them add 1,000 Abyss Points. Their entrances split evenly across the two factions, 81 on each side (61 in Verteron and 20 in Eltnen for Elyos, 61 in Altgard and 20 in Morheim for Asmodians), so one character's full sweep is about 1.2 million bound Kinah. Recommended levels run from 10, such as Poacher's Den, up to 45, such as Drok the Outlaw's Den and Fallen Haven. Many of these clear rewards also include a unique title, which reads like a first-clear payout, so plan on one pass each.
Gathering for profit: nodes, grades and where to farm
Gathering is the cleanest unbound-Kinah source because every gathered material in the client is tradable and carries a Market category. Our gathering page lists all 27 node types in eight groups: Odyle, Ore, Gems, Wood, Herbs, Vegetables, Berries and Shellfish. All of them unlock at gathering mastery 1, and mastery runs to 100 (Beginner up to 50, Intermediate from 51).
The higher-value groups drop materials in four grades from the same node. Odyle rolls Odyle, Fine, Pure or Radiant Odyle; ore rolls Orichalcum Ore up to Radiant Orichalcum Ore; gem nodes give Ruby Gemstone, Sapphire and Diamond lines; wood gives Yggdrasil Log (Elyos) or Asvata Log (Asmodian). Herbs such as Aria come in Common and Rare (Fresh), and the food nodes give one Common grade. Wood nodes can also hand out a bonus Seed of Detection, and herb nodes a Life Crystal.
| Material line | Common | Rare | Epic | Unique |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Odyle (Odyle, Fine, Pure, Radiant) | 20 | 60 | 180 | 540 |
| Orichalcum Ore | 5 | 15 | 45 | 135 |
| Ruby, Sapphire, Diamond Gemstone | 5 | 15 | 45 | 135 |
| Yggdrasil and Asvata Log | 5 | 15 | 45 | 135 |
| Herbs (Aria, Targena, Azpha, Calendula) | 5 | 15 | - | - |
| Food (Mela, Kukuru, Cypri and others) | 5 | - | - | - |
Two things jump out. Each grade step triples the vendor value, and Odyle is worth four times the other lines at every grade. Vendor prices are only a floor, and players will pay more for whatever crafting needs, but the floor tells you which nodes the game itself values. Radiant materials also feed the top recipes: True Dragon Lord Spellbook, a Unique crafted weapon, takes 9 Radiant Ruby Gemstone and 5 Radiant Odyle.
Where to gather
Verteron and Altgard carry the most nodes. Our map data counts 2,733 mapped gathering spawn points in Verteron and 2,692 in Altgard, about double the 1,435 in Eltnen and 1,345 in Morheim. The Abyss only has Odyle, 240 points in Chaotic Lower Reshanta. The zones with the widest node mix:
- Elyos: Eastern Tolbas Forest and Forest of Exiles in Verteron (6 node types each), Ruberein Highland in Eltnen (7).
- Asmodian: Iralcig Highland in Morheim (7), Purifying Forest in Altgard (Odyle, ore, wood and food).
- Gem nodes are rarer than ore or Odyle, so a zone that mixes all three is worth a fixed route.
Crafting for profit in AION 2
Our crafting calculator covers all 512 recipes: Blacksmithing (104), Jewelcrafting (126), Tailoring (144), Alchemy (104) and Cooking (34). Mastery runs to 100. Two details from the client's recipe table matter for money: no recipe charges a Kinah crafting fee, and 280 recipes have a great-success chance of 20 to 30%, which the calculator leaves out so you can treat it as a bonus.
- 1Process raw materials first
Alchemy turns 1 Ruby Gemstone into 3 Ruby Powder, 1 Yggdrasil Log into 3 Yggdrasil Paper and 1 Spiritstone into 3 Spiritstone Powder, from mastery 5 or 20, with bulk versions later. Each input is worth 5 (Spiritstone 9) at a vendor and each output the same per unit, so processing triples the vendor floor, and the outputs stay tradable.
- 2Cook for the Market
All 30 market-listed Cooking products are tradable. Cooking also mixes in bound vendor ingredients such as Verteron Pepper (Bound), so your profit is the sale price minus what you paid the NPC for those.
- 3Know which crafts can be listed
Upgrade recipes, the 190 that take an item you already own, produce nothing with a Market category, so never craft upgrades to sell. Of the 128 normal Blacksmithing and Tailoring recipes, 24 make freely tradable items and 96 make Soul-bound ones, yet nearly all carry a Market category. Our reading is that Soul-bound gear binds when you equip it, so never equip a piece you plan to list, and confirm in game before crafting in bulk.
- 4Sell inputs other crafters need
Unique crafted gear such as True Dragon Lord Spellbook needs 22 Enhanced Thick Balaur Scale, 10 Wrathful Mind and 4 Artisan's Ultimate Refining Stone on top of gathered materials. Those inputs are where the Market demand will be.
Fire Temple farming and other dungeon materials
Fire Temple has a 111-item loot table, and almost all of it is soulbound: 94 items bind on pickup and 7 are not tradable at all. The 10 that are tradable and Market-listed are exactly the ones crafters need: the Refining Stone line up to Artisan's Ultimate Refining Stone, Balaur's Essence, Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will, Wrathful Ego, Sealed Kromede Wings and the Artwork: Fire Temple decoration.
| Material | Grade | Used in | Party dungeons that drop it | Vendor floor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wrathful Mind | Unique | 152 recipes | All six: Krao Cave, Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple, Draupnir, Vakron Sky Island, Ferocious Horn Den | 2,500 |
| Wrathful Will | Unique | 114 recipes | Urugugu Canyon, Fire Temple, Vakron Sky Island, Ferocious Horn Den | 3,000 |
| Wrathful Ego | Unique | 76 recipes | Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den only | 3,500 |
That last row is the case for Fire Temple farming. Wrathful Ego drops in only two party dungeons, on their Conquest and Hard modes, plus the Abyssal Forge: Ludra raid. Every Unique crafting recipe that needs it pulls from that short list. Fire Temple's Conquest reward count recharges 2 a day and banks 14, so you can run it hard on one evening without losing charges. Fire Temple's Exploration mode is not on the source list for any of the three, so run Conquest.
You do not need a dungeon for Balaur's Essence. In our drop data, 14 level 45 hero-rank field monsters drop it at about a 61% chance per kill, including Black Tentacle Lawa in Verteron's Altamia Canyon and Executioner Barthien in Altgard. Use the monster finder to look up any other material's droppers. Our drop tables list items, not Kinah, so we cannot put a figure on Kinah per kill.
Selling on the Market: what you can and cannot trade
AION 2's broker is the Market, and it only takes items that have a Market category in the client. Of the 9,245 items in our item database, 1,686 have one. Most are gear (531 weapons, 742 armor pieces and 132 accessories), followed by decorations (55), skins (48), gathered materials (46), crafting materials (36), food (30), Theostones (17), Magic Stones (12) and Wings (8).
- Check the trade line on an item page before farming it. "Tradable" items list freely. "Soul-bound on pickup" and "Not tradable" items have no Market category, so they cannot be sold to players. Plain "Soul-bound" gear usually does have one.
- List processed materials and Radiant or Pure grades; Common materials are the easiest for buyers to farm themselves.
- Watch what the endgame needs. Crafting inputs for Unique gear and consumables like food get used up, so demand renews every week.
- Prices are player-driven. We will not quote them, and you should check the live Market before every big sale.
Biggest Kinah sinks: enhancement and Amplified Enhancement
Most of your Kinah will go into gear enhancement. Each attempt costs Kinah and Enhance Stones, and the Kinah cost grows sharply past +10 on Unique gear, where success stops being guaranteed. Using the same expected-attempts model as our enhancement calculator, here is what one item level 102 Unique weapon costs:
| Step | Kinah per attempt | Success | Expected Kinah |
|---|---|---|---|
| +0 to +10 | 12,800 rising to 202,000 | 100% | About 920,000 |
| +10 to +15 | 360,000 rising to 1,860,000 | 65% down to 20%, +5% per failure | About 14.1 million more |
| Amplified +0 to +5 | 600,000 rising to 3,000,000 | 66% down to 20%, with pity | About 26.2 million |
So a single top-tier weapon taken to +15 averages about 15 million Kinah before Amplified Enhancement, and roughly 41 million with it. Lower tiers are cheaper but not cheap: an item level 70 Unique weapon averages about 10.3 million to +15. Potential, the PvP upgrade on Abyss gear, is the exception, because it costs Abyss Points instead of Kinah. Our gear enhancement guide explains which slots to push first so this money lands where it matters.
A daily Kinah routine
- Clear your Duty Missions for 50,000 bound Kinah each, and stop redrawing once the cost passes a few thousand.
- Run Fire Temple or Ferocious Horn Den on Conquest and keep every tradable Wrathful material.
- Gather Odyle, ore and gem nodes on your route; keep Pure and Radiant, vendor only Common overflow.
- Process gems, logs and Spiritstones into powders and paper before selling.
- Sweep any sealed dungeons you have not cleared for 15,000 bound Kinah each.
- Check the Market before listing, and spend bound Kinah on enhancement before touching unbound.

Guide FAQ
What is the best way to make Kinah in AION 2?
Early on, quests and sealed dungeons pay the most, all in bound Kinah. At endgame, Duty Missions give 50,000 bound Kinah each, and the Market becomes your main source of unbound Kinah through selling gathered materials, processed crafting materials, food and tradable dungeon drops such as Wrathful materials.
Is Kinah spelled Kina in AION 2?
Yes. The global client names the currency Kina, while most players use the older spelling Kinah. They are the same currency, split in game into Kina (Bound), unbound Kina and a combined Kina (All) pool.
Can you sell bound Kinah items on the Market?
No. Bound Kinah cannot be used on the Market, which runs on unbound Kina. Bound Kinah is still useful because combined costs such as enhancement spend it first, before any unbound Kinah.
Is gathering worth it for Kinah in AION 2?
Yes, because every gathered material is tradable and has a Market category. Vendor prices triple with each grade and Odyle sells for four times other materials, but the real value is the Market price, which players set.
Why farm Fire Temple in AION 2?
Fire Temple and Ferocious Horn Den are the only party dungeons that drop Wrathful Ego, a Unique crafting material used in 76 recipes. Fire Temple also drops tradable Wrathful Mind, Wrathful Will and Refining Stones, while most of its gear binds on pickup.
How much Kinah does enhancement cost in AION 2?
Taking one item level 102 Unique weapon from +0 to +15 averages about 15 million Kinah by our calculation, most of it past +10. Amplified Enhancement to +5 adds about 26 million more. Lower item levels cost less.
