AION 2 Builds: Best Build for Every Class at Launch
AION 2 builds for all 8 classes: skills to level first, passives, a Stigma for every slot, specializations, Daevanion focus and the Theostone to engrave.
AION 2 builds come down to a handful of decisions you make over and over: which skills get your skill points, which passives you level first, which four Stigmas you register, which specializations you slot, where your Daevanion points go and what you engrave on your weapon. This page answers all six for every class, one table per class.
Every pick is our analysis of the global client's skill data (2.0.3.0): cooldowns, targets hit, buff values, Stagger damage and the five specialization options on each skill. There is no global ranking data yet, so nothing here is "what top players run". It is what the kit rewards on paper, with the reasoning shown.

How AION 2 builds work: the six choices
Every class has 12 active skills, 10 passives and 13 Stigma skills. Actives and passives are leveled with skill points: going from level 1 to 10 costs 1 point per level for levels 2 to 4, 2 per level for 5 to 7 and 4 per level for 8 to 10, so 21 points per skill. Each level also has a character-level gate three levels after the previous one. Ruinous Blow, for example, unlocks at 14 and needs character level 38 for skill level 10. You cannot max everything at once, which is why the order matters.
| Choice | How it works (client data) | What we optimize for |
|---|---|---|
| Core actives | Skill points, levels 1 to 10, gated by character level | Cooldown buffs and multi-target attacks first |
| Passives | Same skill-point costs, all 10 unlocked by level 25 | PvE Damage Boost, Max HP and party buffs |
| Specializations | 3 slots per active skill (skill levels 8, 12, 20), 5 options each | Cooldown cuts, AoE conversions, mobility |
| Stigma | 1 slot at level 22, then 27, 32 and 37 | Burst, party value, then utility |
| Daevanion | Every active has 1 node on each of 4 PvE boards; passives have 2 nodes on Nezekan or Zikel | Path through your core skills and doubled passives |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic and Unique weapons have 1 Theostone slot | AoE procs for PvE, control procs for PvP |
One detail shapes every Daevanion plan below: the first five passives each have two nodes on the Nezekan board and the last five have two on Zikel, so "Daevanion focus" mostly means which passive pair you walk through first. Our Daevanion guide covers paths and costs in depth, and the Stigma guide covers Stigma Shards and leveling.
Best Gladiator Build in AION 2
The Gladiator is a greatsword frontliner the client tags as both Tank and Dealer. Its sustain comes from passives, which frees all four Stigma slots for damage.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Ruinous Blow (45s, up to 4 enemies, Prepare for Battle: +20% PvE Damage Boost for 20s), Crushing Wave (20s AoE), Rending Blow (no cooldown, 4 targets), Mocking Blade into Overhead Slam |
| Passives first | Attack Preparation (+5.5% PvE Damage Boost), Survival Stance (+7% Max HP), Blood Absorption (heals 26% Max HP below half health), Experienced Counterstrike at 21 |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Wrath Wave / Rage Burst / Zikel's Blessing / Blade Toss |
| Specializations | Ruinous Blow: +30% Skill Critical Hit, then Extra damage on hit. Crushing Wave: up to +20% damage when more targets are hit, then cooldown reset on Critical Hit |
| Daevanion focus | Nezekan's Attack Preparation and Survival Stance pairs, then Zikel's Murderous Burst pair. Plan it in the Gladiator Daevanion planner |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique greatsword with an AoE Theostone, since 10 of your attacks hit multiple targets |
Ruinous Blow is the skill to rush. Its buff lasts 20 seconds on a 45-second cooldown, so it covers almost half of every fight. For solo leveling before 37, Lifestealing Blade is a strong stand-in for Blade Toss: it has the largest damage coefficient on the Gladiator's Stigma list and heals you on a 90-second cooldown.
Best Templar Build in AION 2
The Templar is the client's only pure Tank and fights with a longsword and shield. A Templar build is about holding enmity, keeping the party alive and still contributing the Executor buff, which is one of the bigger self-buffs in any kit.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Punishment (30s, charged, Executor: +200 Accuracy, +20% PvE Damage Boost for 20s), Shield Smite (10s, 4 targets, Stun), Warding Strike (30s, self-heal, +20% PvE Damage Tolerance), Judgment |
| Passives first | Enhance Health (+7.5% Max HP, +6% Incoming Heal), Ironclad Defense (+7% Defense), Guarding Seal (21% Max HP shield below half health), Fury at 21 (party +5.5% PvE Damage Boost on Block) |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Empyrean Lord's Punishment / Nezekan's Shield / Executing Blade / Taunt |
| Specializations | Warding Strike: -5s cooldown, then +10% PvE Damage Tolerance to the party on use (16). Shield Smite: -2s cooldown, then AoE Stun (16). Punishment: changes to mobile skill (12) |
| Daevanion focus | Nezekan's Enhance Health, Ironclad Defense and Guarding Seal pairs, then Zikel's Fury and Insulting Roar (+100% Enmity Boost). See the Templar Daevanion board |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique longsword; a Combat Speed reduction Theostone fits a tank best (see below) |
Empyrean Lord's Punishment goes in first because it is the most useful thing you can press at level 22: a 60-second, 20m, 4-target Stun that always lands on NPCs and deals 50 Stagger Gauge Damage. From 27, Nezekan's Shield gives the whole party a 41% Max HP shield. Solo players can take Doom Shield (30s rush, Knockdown, small shield) over Taunt.
Best Assassin Build in AION 2
The Assassin runs on Insignia stacks and Critical Hits. The build has one goal: land 5 Insignias, then cash them in with Insignia Explosion, while Heart Gore fires on every crit.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Heart Gore (5s, triggers on Critical Hit, 4 targets, restores 100 MP), Insignia Explosion (10s, 20m, scales with Insignia stacks), Savage Roar (engraves 1 Insignia), Ambush (+30% from behind) |
| Passives first | Assault Stance (+6% Critical Damage Boost), Exploit Weakness (+100 Critical Hit, crit clones that engrave Insignia), Apply Poison, Defense Break at 21 (-12% Defense on staggered targets) |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Savage Fang / Triniel's Dagger / Illusive Clone / Swift Contract |
| Specializations | Heart Gore: Multi-Hit on hit (12), then cooldown reset on Critical Hit (16). Insignia Explosion: keep 2 Insignia stacks after it fires, then -3s cooldown (16) |
| Daevanion focus | Nezekan's Assault Stance and Exploit Weakness pairs first, then Zikel's Defense Break. Map it on the Assassin Daevanion board |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique daggers; a low-chance, high-damage Theostone (fast hits rarely run into its 1s cooldown) |
Savage Fang engraves all 5 Insignias in one press, which is why it takes the first slot. Swift Contract (+20% Combat Speed for 10s on a 60-second cooldown) is the PvE fourth pick because more swings means more crits, and more crits means more Heart Gore. For PvP, swap it for Aerial Bind, which guarantees Airborne on a target carrying 5 Insignias.
Best Ranger Build in AION 2
The Ranger fights at 20m and gets stronger the longer it keeps two buffs up: Gale from Gale Arrow and Precision from Marking Shot. Most of its extra damage keys off Slow or Root, so Snare Shot is a setup tool, not filler.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Gale Arrow (20s, 4 targets, Gale: +7% Combat Speed and +7% PvE Damage Boost), Deadshot (charged, +35% with Precision), Marking Shot (Precision: +300 Critical Hit), Snare Shot into Burst Arrow |
| Passives first | Hunter's Resolve (+6% Critical Damage Boost), Focused Eye, Rooting Eye at 17 (bonus hits on slowed or rooted targets), Hunter's Soul at 25 |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Arrow Storm / Explosive Arrow / Vaizel's Authority / Griffon Arrow |
| Specializations | Gale Arrow: +5s duration, then -10s cooldown (16), which keeps Gale up nearly full time. Deadshot: changes to mobile skill. Burst Arrow: 25% chance to reset cooldown (16) |
| Daevanion focus | Nezekan's Hunter's Resolve and Focused Eye pairs, then Zikel's Rooting Eye and Hunter's Soul. Plan it in the Ranger Daevanion planner |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique bow; an AoE Theostone for packs, a Move Speed reduction one for PvP kiting |
Gale Arrow's two specializations stack well: +5s duration makes Gale last 15 seconds on a 20-second cooldown right away, and the level-16 option later cuts that cooldown by 10s. The duration option is our first specialization pick on the class. Explosive Arrow follows Arrow Storm because it hits 20% harder on Slowed or Rooted targets, and Snare Shot applies that Slow to a whole pack.
Best Sorcerer Build in AION 2
The Sorcerer is the burst caster: two charged or chained Fire combos, Water control, and one passive that matters more than any other. Grace of Enhancement (level 21) adds +20% PvE Damage Boost as long as your MP stays at 25% or more, so this build quietly revolves around mana.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Hellfire (45s, charged, 4 targets), Firestorm (5s), Blaze (5s on Fire Mark targets, restores 100 MP), Frost into Frost Burst for control |
| Passives first | Grace of Enhancement at 21, Fire Mark, Robe of Earth (+7% Max MP, +105 Critical Hit at half MP or more), Absorb Essence (MP on hit) |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Fire Wall / Element Enhancement / Glacial Smite / Steel Barrier |
| Specializations | Firestorm: -50% MP Cost, then -2s Hellfire cooldown per fireball (12) and +15% damage per fireball up to +75% (16). Hellfire: -15s cooldown (16) |
| Daevanion focus | Zikel first for the doubled Grace of Enhancement nodes once it opens at 20, then Nezekan's Fire Mark and Robe of Earth. See the Sorcerer Daevanion board |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique spellbook; an AoE Fire Theostone for packs, a Seal Theostone for PvP |
Firestorm is the hidden core skill. Its level-12 option shortens Hellfire by 2 seconds per fireball, so the two skills feed each other. Steel Barrier sits in the last slot because the Sorcerer has no Max HP passive: it is a 16% Max HP shield that lasts 60 seconds on a 60-second cooldown. For boss fights you can trade it for Divine Burst and its 50 Stagger Gauge Damage.
Best Spiritmaster Build in AION 2
The Spiritmaster plays as two characters: you and the spirit. Spirit skills feed Four Elements for Elemental Fusion and trigger Dimensional Control, and your damage-over-time effects switch on two passives. The build keeps a DoT on every target and a spirit always summoned.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Jointstrike: Curse (10s, 4 targets, Curse DoT), Elemental Fusion (fires at 4 element stacks), Summon: Wind Spirit (heals you) or Fire Spirit (AoE), Dimensional Control |
| Passives first | Spirit Strike (+6% PvE Damage Boost for you and the spirit), Corrode, Consecutive Countercurrent at 17 (extra damage on targets taking DoT), Element Unification at 25 |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Summon: Ancient Spirit / Jointstrike: Corrode / Cursed Cloud / Enhance: Spirit's Benediction |
| Specializations | Elemental Fusion: changes to AoE, then Charge Skill with up to 200% more damage (12) and 25% chance to regain Four Elements (16). Jointstrike: Curse: +2s Curse duration, then -2s cooldown (12) |
| Daevanion focus | Nezekan's Spirit Strike pair, then Zikel's Consecutive Countercurrent and Element Unification. Open the Spiritmaster Daevanion planner |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique orb; a Poison Theostone keeps one more DoT ticking for Consecutive Countercurrent to check |
Summon: Ancient Spirit earns the first slot because it lasts 30 seconds, hits up to 4 targets and grants Four Elements every time it uses its skill, which feeds Elemental Fusion directly. Cursed Cloud and Jointstrike: Corrode stack two long DoTs on a pack. For PvP, Seize Magic (removes up to 2 buffs) replaces Cursed Cloud.
Best Cleric Build in AION 2
The Cleric is the only pure Healer, but its offensive kit is better than it looks: Chain of Torment lowers the target's PvE Damage Tolerance for the whole party. A good Cleric build heals with short cooldowns and keeps that debuff up between heals.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Healing Light (6s, lowest-HP party member), Radiant Recovery (12s, party heal plus 1 debuff removed), Light of Regeneration (30s party heal over time), Chain of Torment (-5% enemy PvE Damage Tolerance) |
| Passives first | Healing Enhancement (Heal Boost), Warm Benediction (+6% Max HP), Earth's Grace at 21 (+10.5% Critical Damage Boost), Radiant Benediction at 25 (party heal on attack) |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Light of Protection / Absolution / Yustiel's Power / Summon Resurrection |
| Specializations | Healing Light: +2 consecutive uses, then -2s cooldown (16). Radiant Recovery: removes up to 2 debuffs. Chain of Torment: +10% PvE Damage Tolerance reduction (12) |
| Daevanion focus | Nezekan's Healing Enhancement and Warm Benediction pairs, then Zikel's Radiant Benediction. Build it on the Cleric Daevanion board |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique mace; any damage Theostone for PvE, a Stun or Seal one to peel attackers in PvP |
Light of Protection is a toggle on a 5-second cooldown that gives you and nearby party members +10.5% PvE Damage Boost and Damage Tolerance, so it is the best value per slot at 22. When you level alone, Earth Punishment (30s cooldown, a hit plus a 10-second DoT) is the better first Stigma, and you can move Light of Protection in once you queue for dungeons.
Best Chanter Build in AION 2
The Chanter is a staff hybrid tagged Healer and Dealer. Its rotation revolves around Dark Crush, which several skills unlock for a short window, and its party value comes from Stigmas and passives that work while you fight.
| Build slot | Pick |
|---|---|
| Core actives | Spinning Strike (30s, 4 targets, +15% Critical Damage Boost for 30s, stacks twice), Dark Crush (5s), Impactful Crush (15s Stun, opens Dark Crush), Recuperation (15s party heal) |
| Passives first | Attack Preparation (+5.5% PvE Damage Boost), Protection Circle (party barrier every 10 hits), Earth's Promise at 21 (-5.4% target PvE Damage Tolerance), Wind's Promise at 25 |
| Stigma 22 / 27 / 32 / 37 | Marchutan's Wrath / Undefeated Mantra / Power of the Storm / Impeding Authority |
| Specializations | Spinning Strike: -5s cooldown, then ignores Block and Evasion and lands as a Critical Hit (16). Dark Crush: adds the Piercing Strike chain skill (12) |
| Daevanion focus | Nezekan's Attack Preparation and Protection Circle pairs, then Zikel's Earth's Promise. Lay it out on the Chanter Daevanion board |
| Weapon and Theostone | Epic or Unique staff; an AoE Theostone, because most of your hits are 4-target |
Marchutan's Wrath goes first even though the Chanter is a support: it has a 30-second cooldown, hits up to 4 targets and opens a 3-second Dark Crush window, which makes leveling much faster. Undefeated Mantra joins at 27 and Power of the Storm at 32, where its party-wide 20% Combat Speed and 10% cooldown cut start to pay off in group content.
Stigma order at a glance: 22, 27, 32 and 37
The full Stigma lists, Shard costs and PvP alternatives are in our AION 2 Stigma guide. This table is only about order: which Stigma to register first as each slot opens.
| Class | Level 22 | Level 27 | Level 32 | Level 37 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gladiator | Wrath Wave | Rage Burst | Zikel's Blessing | Blade Toss |
| Templar | Empyrean Lord's Punishment | Nezekan's Shield | Executing Blade | Taunt |
| Assassin | Savage Fang | Triniel's Dagger | Illusive Clone | Swift Contract |
| Ranger | Arrow Storm | Explosive Arrow | Vaizel's Authority | Griffon Arrow |
| Sorcerer | Fire Wall | Element Enhancement | Glacial Smite | Steel Barrier |
| Spiritmaster | Summon: Ancient Spirit | Jointstrike: Corrode | Cursed Cloud | Enhance: Spirit's Benediction |
| Cleric | Light of Protection | Absolution | Yustiel's Power | Summon Resurrection |
| Chanter | Marchutan's Wrath | Undefeated Mantra | Power of the Storm | Impeding Authority |
The pattern: slot one helps you level alone, slot two adds burst or the party tool dungeons ask for, and the last two add buffs and safety.
Best Theostone for each class build
Theostones are weapon procs, and only Epic and Unique weapons have the slot. Within a grade, the damage Theostones are tuned to the same average: a Unique single-target stone works out to about 150 damage per attack and an AoE stone to about 75 per target hit, whatever its proc chance. So pick by how many targets you hit and how fast you swing. Our AION 2 Theostone guide has the full list and the math.
| Class | PvE pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Gladiator, Chanter, Sorcerer | AoE elemental Theostone | Most attacks hit up to 4 targets, so AoE procs pay out up to four times |
| Assassin | Low-chance single-target stone | Fast hits rarely run into the 1s activation cooldown of a 1% or 2% stone |
| Ranger | AoE stone in PvE, Move Speed reduction in PvP | Ranged packs in PvE, kiting in PvP |
| Spiritmaster | Poison Theostone | A long DoT on the target feeds Consecutive Countercurrent |
| Templar | Combat Speed reduction stone | The only proc that slows how fast the target attacks |
| Cleric | Stun or Seal stone in PvP | A healer attacks less, so PvE damage procs matter less than peel |
How to set up your build in game
- 1Level your core actives to 10
Put skill points into two or three core skills before anything else.
- 2Level two passives
Pick the passive with PvE Damage Boost or Max HP first. All ten unlock by character level 25.
- 3Slot specializations at skill level 8
Pick from the three level-8 options, then revisit at skill level 12.
- 4Register Stigmas as slots open
At 22, 27, 32 and 37, add the next Stigma from the table above. Level each to 5 for its first specialization.
- 5Path the Daevanion boards
From level 12, path Nezekan through your core skill and doubled passive nodes. Compare classes in the Daevanion planner.
- 6Engrave a Theostone
Engrave one from the Enhancement menu once you hold an Epic or Unique weapon.

Guide FAQ
What is the best build in AION 2?
There is no single best build, but every strong build levels the class cooldown buff or main AoE skill first, takes the passive with PvE Damage Boost or Max HP, and fills the four Stigma slots with damage first and party tools second. Examples are Ruinous Blow for the Gladiator and Punishment for the Templar.
Which skills should I level first in AION 2?
Level the skill that grants a damage buff or hits several enemies on a short cooldown. Ruinous Blow, Punishment, Heart Gore, Gale Arrow, Hellfire, Jointstrike: Curse, Healing Light and Spinning Strike are the core skills for the eight classes.
How many specializations can a skill have in AION 2?
Each active skill lists five specialization options. Three become available at skill level 8, one at 12 and one at 16, and you have three slots that open at skill levels 8, 12 and 20.
When do you get Stigma slots in AION 2?
You get the first Stigma slot at character level 22 and new ones at 27, 32 and 37, for a maximum of four. Stigmas cannot be swapped while you are in combat.
Do passives need skill points in AION 2?
Yes. Passives are leveled with skill points on the same cost curve as active skills, 21 points from level 1 to 10, and all ten passives unlock by character level 25.
Are these AION 2 builds based on player data?
No. Global servers are brand new, so these builds come from analyzing each class kit in the global client: cooldowns, targets, buff values and specialization options.
