Tomorrow I am to become a wife, and everyone smiles but me.

I have tried, I wanted my feelings to change, yet every morning they remain the same.

Mother grows angry whenever she catches me crying. She says love is a foolish dream when monsters roam the roads... She tells me Janek is a good man. That's true! He is kind, patient, and would never raise his hand against me.

But I only loved one man in my life, and he is now lying in cold soil.

Today I wish death had claimed me too. I'd rather be dead, than live in a lie that slowly kills me.
