I find it within my duty to report the inappropriate behaviour of the emperor's emissary whom we are required to escort.
Yesterday, when I praised the ambition of our dear emperor, they grinned and said:
‘I cannot wait for Bonaparte to command the Sun itself to rise earlier, so that he may win another battle before breakfast.'
