Verteron Fortress has fallen. The Guardians and the Illusion Cavaliers who defended it were completely wiped out. Our unit survived only because we were guarding the outskirts and managed to flee. Although we were outmatched, we tried to uphold our duty as Guardians. We lost Elysium and no longer have an Empyrean Lord to serve, but we are Guardians all the same. We regrouped with other survivors, formed a Legion, and continued our fight against Ishtar. But the Balaur aren't our only foes. Many of our former comrades were corrupted by unstable Odyle and, having forgotten Odyle's guidance and the teachings of our Empyrean Lords, turned against us. There was no one who could placate or lead them and eventually we proved our own demise before we could even face the Balaur in earnest.
