Build a planter and a light source from the farming category (Electric Lamp, Lunar Mirror, Planter 1 x 1, Planter 1 x 2, Planter 1 x 3, Planter 2 x 2, Planter 2 x 3, Farming Fertilizer Bin, Farming Station, Farming Water Tank), add soil and water, plant a seed and keep water, light and soil quality up until harvest.
