How to get Bladesmith
Game dataIn-game condition: “Upgrade a single Melee Weapon to maximum.”
Bladesmith unlocks when any one Blade (the Saber, Rapier or Claymore) reaches level 10, its maximum. James's Iron Bench does the work, and one Blade from level 1 to 10 costs 6 Crude, 6 Pure, 3 Distilled and 1 Quintessential Blade Material.
The single Quintessential Blade Material is the gate: it is never sold, and only three are placed, one in The Outskirts and two in the Fortress. Distilled Blade Material is placed 15 times across nine regions, drops from the Enraged Risen Duellist in The Outskirts, and James sells it for 6,000 Catalysts after Chapter IX. Crude and Pure Material are common, and James sells them too.
The Saber gains the most (20 → 60 damage), the Claymore hits hardest (50 → 100), and the Rapier (25 → 45) is the parry specialist. Upgrade the Blade you actually fight with.
