I gathered three little coughers from the alley this morning - all thin as receipts. Up the stairs they went, into my 'hospital'. Locked them up, now I'll just wait for another gullible idiot willing to help little lambkins.

Two more died yesterday. Small Anna quiet at dawn, the boy with the blue lips followed by supper.

The smallest one is hacking herself hollow, she won't last the week - but their coughing's good for business, people are more willing to help.

I'll need fresh children soon, since I'm almost out of laudanum and momma needs her drink!
