- Find Barnaby's house through his dog's grave: the Note on Scruffy's Grave (about 62 m from Lighthouse) and Barnaby's Diary (54 m) mark the spot. Take the Laudanum-Filled Bottle (step 3).

The caretaker isn't what she claims: her diary shows she locks sick children up and keeps the medicine. Give her the plain laudanum and you return to find the children dead (step 4). I was asked for help by an old lady who runs a sick house for unwell children. She needs laudanum, a medicine that helps those suffering from typhus. Apparently, a local drunk called Barnaby has a few bottles. Barnaby recently buried his beloved dog, Scruffy — that might prove a useful clue in finding Barnaby's house.

I accidentally discovered the horrible truth behind the sick house — the children are inside, but they claim the old lady has left them to die and keeps all the laudanum for herself. They gave me a bottle of rat poison to mix with her laudanum.
