Permafrost's currency is Bucks — 'paper over violence', as the item description puts it — and seven survivors will take them off you. Each trader has a fixed stock list in the game data: Anna's 50 Wood and four Makeshift Heaters, The Mule's Ultra Dishes and stone tools, Skinwalker's bows and traps. This guide lists every inventory, the trade value of the items you will want, and the few items that exist purely to be sold.

Trader inventories from the game's trading configs

Dr. Sonnenberg (the Solar Fields' medical trader), Condor and Jeremiah Crow (the weapon trader at Crow's Nest) are flagged as traders but their inventories are empty in the preview build — expect those to fill at launch. The game also defines template stocks that a trader can draw from: an Ammo template with 100–199 rounds of every caliber, a Clothing template with the Military, Insulated Mountain and even Permafrost pieces, a Melee template that includes firearms like the AR-53 and Viater, and a Resources template with every raw material and 2000 Bucks. Who draws which template is set at launch; check each character page for the live stock.

Bucks also drop directly: ATMs hold up to 24, military cars up to 2, and quests pay out — House Camp Flipper gives 20 Bucks, and the milestone kits for House Camp and the Solar Fields each include 300. The loot page lists every container that can hold cash.

What to buy, what to sell

Spending Bucks at traders
Pros
  • Anna's 50 Wood / 50 Scrap / 50 Flint saves an hour of gathering when you first reach House Camp
  • Skinwalker's 100 Wooden Arrows and 5 Simple Bows outfit a whole hunting trip
  • Makeshift Heaters (40 Bucks) from Anna or Skinwalker cover the cold-zone crossing in Going Further
  • The Mule's 10 Treated Hide skips the Tanning Rack grind for a Hybrid set
Cons
  • Resources sell for almost nothing — Wood and Meat are 5 Bucks
  • Preview stock is finite per visit (Anna has exactly 4 heaters)
  • High-value guns are better kept than sold at a 50% factor
  • Dr. Sonnenberg, Condor and Jeremiah have nothing to sell yet
  • Carry every Valuable back: Jewelry Casket, Golden Watch, Cosmetic Set, Hygiene Kit, Comic Books, Insulin Vial, Cigarettes.
  • Sell raw Gold (80) rather than smelting it — no recipe in the preview uses Gold Ingots.
  • Keep Weapon Parts for the Weapon Bench or Quality Metal; only sell spares.
  • Buy Makeshift Heaters before the cold-zone quests; buy Treated Hide from The Mule if you lack a Tanning Rack.
  • Check Logan for 9x19mm ammo once you have an IZG or Anetti 19.
