How to get Lament of the Limbs

Game data

In-game condition: “Defeat Experiment 83.”

Lament of the Limbs unlocks when you defeat Experiment 83, the seventh boss, also in The Outskirts during Chapter VII Witch Hunt. The Lighthouse Lantern is about 35 m away.

Experiment 83 is a damage sponge with only four attacks, 3,400 Health and 1,000 Posture. Two of the four are unblockable: Unfair Slam, which hits for 120 (the hardest single hit of any boss in our data), and a grab, so always dodge those. It takes 20% extra fire damage and ×1.5 on the head but only ×0.8 on its arms and legs, so the Fire Transmutation plus head-height hits is the fastest kill. It resists Ignite build-up by 50% and Stasis by 30%, so fire works as raw damage rather than as a status effect.

The kill pays 20,000 Catalysts.
