How to get Scattershot

Game data

In-game condition: “Kill 5 enemies with a single Blunderbuss shot.”

Scattershot asks for five kills from a single Blunderbuss shot, and the weapon data shows why it is one of the rarest achievements: each Blunderbuss pellet deals 15 damage at level 1 (30 at level 10), and one whole shot is capped at 150 damage at level 1 and 350 at level 10. Five kills from one shot needs five enemies whose remaining Health adds up to less than that cap.

The recipe: upgrade the Blunderbuss as far as you can, take Collateral Damage at level 5 for a wider spread, and soften a pack first. Shambling Civilians come in the biggest groups (162 spawners, 80 Health at level 1), and Spewers have only 50 Health. Light a crowd with the Fire Transmutation or chip it with melee, then fire into the middle from point-blank range: the Blunderbuss deals full damage only out to 3 m and falls to 20% by 8 m.

Iron Shower, the alternative level-5 trait, extends full damage to 8 m but doesn't widen the spread.
