How to get Statue of Insanity

Game data

In-game condition: “Fully lock Sergeant Gaspard 'Cannonhand' Dubois in Stasis.”

Statue of Insanity asks you to lock Sergeant Gaspard “Cannonhand” Dubois fully in Stasis: fill every one of his Stasis segments before the meter decays. The game files contain two Cannonhands: The Iron Marshall, the boss of Fallen Village (spawned from the boss Cannonhand type, 6 Stasis segments), and an Enraged Cannonhand elite of the Remnants of the Iron Regiment in Cursed Hollow, near the Deep Water Lantern (2,000 Health, 5 Stasis segments, drops the Wound that Heals Amber).

Timing points to the elite. The Stasis Transmutation is only handed over in the Caverns (Chapter IV), one region after The Iron Marshall, and bosses don't respawn. The Cursed Hollow Cannonhand comes later, when Stasis is already in your hands, and the Claymore's Wave of Stasis is picked up at the same Lantern.

Stasis reaches 8 m and holds an enemy for 10 s. Stack the build-up: keep the Stasis Transmutation on him, add Claymore Stasis waves, and take Hex at Stasis level 4 so the meter stops decaying.

Can you miss Statue of Insanity?

What can lock this achievement out on a playthrough, according to the game data.

Enraged elites never respawn after dying. If the Cursed Hollow Cannonhand is Sergeant Dubois, killing him before he is fully frozen loses the chance on that playthrough, so fill his Stasis meter before you finish him.
