PikePerch takes Fishing Bait and lives in Black Forest, Meadows, between 1.5 and 3 metres down. It pulls at 10 and drains 3 stamina a second while you reel, so a long fight is a real stamina cost rather than a formality. The same bait also brings up Stone, Amber.

Perch FAQ
What bait catches Perch?
Fishing Bait. No other bait works — Valheim decides the catch from the hook, not the location, so fishing the right water with the wrong bait returns nothing.
Where do you find Perch?
In Black Forest, Meadows water, between 1.5 and 3 metres deep. Shallower than that and it will not be there; the float has to sit over water that deep.
Where do you catch Perch?
In the Black Forest, Meadows, between 1.5 and 3 of water. Depth is the real gate — casting into the shallows of the right biome catches nothing if the fish only lives deep.
How much stamina does reeling in Perch cost?
3 per pull, against a pull strength of 10. Run out of stamina mid-fight and the line goes slack and the fish escapes, so eat before a long session rather than during one.
What else can you catch with the same bait?
Pike. Bait decides the catch in Valheim far more than location does, so the same cast in the same water returns a different fish depending only on what is on the hook.
Does Perch drop anything besides the fish?
Yes: Stone, Amber. That comes off the same catch rather than from a separate roll, so it is free.
