Resources

All 54 resources in Valheim and where each one actually comes from, whether that is a rock, a bush, an ore vein, a tree or a creature. Worlds are generated from a seed, so no guide can give you coordinates, but which biome a resource belongs to and what tool it needs never change.

Valheim generates 54 distinct resources across its biomes. Worlds are seed-generated, so there is no fixed map position for anything: what is fixed is which biome a resource generates in and at what altitude, which is what this page lists.

Valheim Resources FAQ

Where do I find copper in Valheim?

Copper deposits generate in the Black Forest and are minable with any pickaxe. Because worlds are procedurally generated there is no fixed location, only the biome and altitude band.

Is there a Valheim map showing resource locations?

Not a meaningful one. Every Valheim world is generated from its own seed, so no two worlds share resource positions. Biome and altitude are the only reliable answer, and both are listed here.

What is the rarest resource in Valheim?

Not the one that is hardest to mine — it is the one gated behind the furthest travel. Of the 54 resources tracked here, the late-biome materials are scarce because of where they are rather than how rare the node is.

Which resources cannot be teleported?

Every ore and every bar. That rule is why a mining trip is a logistics problem rather than a combat one, and why players build a shore outpost at the dig site instead of carrying ore overland.

Do resource nodes respawn in Valheim?

Some do and some do not, and the difference is the type rather than the biome: harvestable plants and trees regrow on a timer, while mined deposits are gone for good once cleared. That is why an exhausted copper site is worth abandoning rather than revisiting.
