All 24 Valheim skills with what a level is actually worth, which the game shows nowhere in its own interface. Each has its own page giving the figure at levels 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100, whether that is damage dealt, stamina saved or block power gained. Skills cap at 100 and you lose 5% of every one of them on death, so the curves come from the game files and the numbers are exact rather than estimated from play.

 Elemental Magic | Damage and eitr usage when using elemental magic. |
 Farming | Stamina use, cultivator wear, harvest radius and chance for bonus yields. |
 Fishing | Stamina drain and pull speed when fishing. |
 Jump | Jump height. |
 Knives | Damage with knives. |
 Pickaxes | Damage with pickaxes. |
 Polearms | Damage with polearms. |
 Ride | Animal speed and stamina drain. |
 Run | Speed and stamina drain when running. |
 Sneak | Stamina drain and stealthiness when sneaking. |
 Spears | Damage with spears. |
 Swim | Stamina drain when swimming. |
 Swords | Damage with swords. |
 Unarmed | Damage when unarmed. |
 Woodcutting | Axe damage when hitting trees. |
Valheim has 24 skills, each raised by using it and each capped at 100. Dying costs you 5% of every skill, which is the single biggest reason to fight carefully rather than cheaply.

How many skills are in Valheim?
There are 24, covering weapons, movement, crafting and gathering. Each is raised purely by doing the thing, and all cap at 100.
Do you lose skills when you die in Valheim?
Yes. Every skill drops by 5% on death. That applies across the board, not just to combat skills.
How do you level skills fast in Valheim?
By using them, and nothing else — there is no training dummy shortcut that outpaces real use. Skills gain most per use at low levels and slow sharply as they climb toward 100, so the last ten levels cost more than the first fifty.
Do you lose skills when you die in Valheim?
Yes: every skill drops by 5% of its current level on death. That is why the Rested buff and a bed near dangerous work pay for themselves, and why a death streak hurts long after the gear is recovered.
Which Valheim skill matters most?
Running and jumping, for most players — they cut stamina cost on the two things you do constantly. Among combat skills, whichever weapon you actually use: the damage bonus is multiplicative with the weapon, so spreading across 24 skills is worse than committing to two.
