Effect pools by archetype
Gear with an archetype rolls from that archetype's pool, so a Tank chestplate and a Tank hammer share these options.
Effects found only on Unique items and talismans
These never roll at random; you get them only through the listed items.
61 effects can roll at random: 0 in the armor pool, 6 in the weapon pool and 8 in the artifact pool, plus archetype and element pools. Common items roll 0 random effects, Rare 1 and Special 2; a Unique gets 1 plus its fixed effect. 12 effects never roll at random and only come on Unique items or talismans.

Gear effects FAQ
What are gear effects in Minecraft Dungeons II?
Bonuses that roll on weapons, armor and artifacts, like Sharpness or Protection. Each has tiers I to III with fixed values; an item's rarity sets how many it gets.
How many effects can an item have?
By rarity: Common 0, Rare 1, Special 2 and Unique 1 random effects, plus the Unique's fixed effect. The game caps an item at 4 effects.
Why can't my item roll a certain effect?
Items only roll from the pools they belong to: their gear type (armor, weapon, artifact), their archetypes and their element. An effect outside all of an item's pools can't appear on it.
What do the I, II and III tiers mean?
They are the strength steps of an effect, each with a fixed value in the game data; Unique items often carry an effect above tier III.
Are effects the same as enchantments?
No. Effects come with the item when it drops; enchantments are added afterwards with enchantment books at the Enchantsmith and trigger on actions like jump attacks or artifact use.
