SPAM Elements Explained: Element Points, Bonuses & Resistances
Everything about elements in the SPAM card game: the six elements and Ether, how element points add 10% damage each, Hearts, terrain and resistances.
Elements are the engine of the SPAM card game. Every ability has an element, every card has a resistance to each element, and every player builds up element points during a match. Understanding how points scale is the single biggest step from beginner to winning decks.
The seven elements
| Element | Cards |
|---|---|
| Fire | 21 |
| Water | 21 |
| Earth | 21 |
| Nature | 21 |
| Shadow | 21 |
| Light | 21 |
| Ether | 1 (Aeltheria, Primordial Mother) |
Each element has its own page with every card, the strongest decks and the Tox that feed it: Fire, Water, Earth, Nature, Shadow, Light and Ether, the seventh element some players call Aether.
How element points work
Each player has a separate pool of points for every element. When an ability deals damage, its value is multiplied by 1 + 0.1 × your points in that element: with 10 Fire points, a 30-damage Fire attack hits for 60 before resistances and critical hits. Points never decay, so a source that adds +1 every turn is worth +10 after ten turns.
| Element points | Multiplier | Damage |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | ×1.0 | 30 |
| 5 | ×1.5 | 45 |
| 10 | ×2.0 | 60 |
| 20 | ×3.0 | 90 |
| 40 | ×5.0 | 150 |
Where points come from
- Abilities — the Spirits add +1 every turn (Blaze, Wave, Rampart…), Commando Gerz's Cigarillos adds +3 Earth and +3 Light, Mistress of Tints's Multiboost adds +3 in every element, and the Kings choose +1 to +20.
- Hearts — Fireheart, Waterheart, Earthheart, Natureheart, Shadowheart and Lightheart add +1/+2/+5/+8 points every turn (Common to Legendary).
- Terrain — the arena gives +5 of its element to both players.
- Graveyard — +3 to +12 in every element whenever a card dies.
- Talents — Multi Start (+3 in each element) and field talents like Earth Field (+7 Earth).
Resistances
Every card has a resistance per element, shown as a percentage: 10% means 10% less damage of that element. Values range from strongly negative (a weakness) to +50%, and changes to resistance can't push it past ±50%. Resistance is checked against the attack's element, not the attacker's card. Ether has no resistance entry at all, so Ether damage always lands in full.
