How to get Not a Cat Person

Game data

In-game condition: “Defeat the Sphinx.”

Not a Cat Person unlocks when you defeat the Sphinx, Devourer of the Unworthy, the third boss and the climax of Chapter IV Dark Descent in the Caverns. The nearest Lantern, Ancient Lair, is a long 368 m away in a straight line, so expect a run back after each attempt.

The Sphinx has 2,000 Health but only 350 Posture, the smallest Posture bar of any boss that has one, so Parries and Posture damage are the fastest way through. Its fight has two stages in the data, Masked and Unmasked. Five of its 14 attacks are unblockable (two combos, a leap, a vanish and a posture-break move) and some of its hits build Stasis on you, so back off when its attacks glow red. It has no elemental weakness and no resistances.

The kill pays 20,000 Catalysts, and the Stasis Transmutation is handed to you in the same region, at the Old Mine.
