A swing of Thunderblood Spear costs 16 stamina, with a reach of 1.9 m. Stamina is what actually decides a fight in Valheim rather than raw damage: your food sets the pool, and a weapon that costs less per swing keeps you attacking where a heavier one leaves you standing still waiting to recover.

Valheim adds that figure up across everything equipped — both hands, all four armour slots, the utility slot and the trinket — so a heavy set with a shield reaches a number you can feel, and it applies to the stamina that running and jumping drain as well as to speed.
